1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Use-Me application (www.use-me.ch), you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Service Description
Use-Me is an AI-powered food management platform designed to reduce food waste by tracking items, providing expiration alerts, suggesting recipes, and offering professional Hygiene Control with AI-generated HACCP compliance reports aligned with Swiss food safety law (LDAl, OHyg, ODAlOUs).
3. Registration & Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (Email, Google, or Facebook login).
4. Camera Usage & Permissions
The app requires camera access for Vision Recognition of food items, products, and expiration dates. No raw video is stored.
- Vision Recognition: To identify food items and products via image analysis.
- Expiration Tracking: To capture packaging dates via AI.
- Bulk Entry: To scan grocery receipts.
- Recipe Media Sharing: To capture and upload photos or videos of your prepared recipes for community and social media promotion (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X).

5. Hygiene Control & AI-Generated HACCP Reports
The Hygiene Control feature (available on Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Pro plans) uses Google Gemini AI Vision to analyse photos of food items and generate HACCP compliance reports. By using this feature, you acknowledge the following:
- AI-generated HACCP reports are based on photo analysis and are provided for informational purposes. They do not replace a certified food safety consultant or official cantonal inspection.
- You remain solely responsible for verifying compliance with Swiss federal food law (LDAl SR 817.0), the Hygiene Ordinance (OHyg SR 817.024.1), cantonal regulations, and HACCP principles per Codex Alimentarius.
- Photos submitted for Hygiene Control analysis are processed by Google Gemini AI and are not stored by Use-Me beyond the immediate analysis session.
- Use-Me Hygiene Control is designed as a self-monitoring support tool under ODAlOUs Art. 74–85. It does not constitute an official food safety certification or inspection.
⚠️ AI HACCP reports must always be reviewed and confirmed by a qualified food safety professional before relying on them for legal compliance.
Subscriptions & Billing
Use-Me offers the following auto-renewable subscription plans, available via in-app purchase on the App Store:

Important — Auto-Renewal Information:
- Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Renewal Charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same price as your selected plan.
- Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Manage & Cancel: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until that date.
- Price changes: We will notify you of any price changes in advance. Continued use of the app after the price change takes effect constitutes your agreement to pay the updated price.
Prices shown are in US Dollars (USD). Prices may vary by country and are set in the local currency of your App Store region. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by local law.

6. AI Accuracy
AI suggestions (Gemini), including Hygiene Control (HACCP) logs and reports, are provided for convenience. Users must manually verify food safety, cantonal compliance, and expiry/sell-by dates.
While we strive for high accuracy, automated recognition of products, expiration dates, and recipe suggestions may contain errors. Use-Me is a tool to assist, but final verification of food safety is the user's responsibility.

Acceptable Use & Fraud Prevention
You agree not to misuse the Use-Me services. Bypassing or attempting to bypass subscription limits, free tier quotas, or usage restrictions—including but not limited to deleting and recreating accounts ("Account Cycling") to gain additional free usage—is strictly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app for any device or user found engaging in such activity.
Data Deletion & Retention
You have complete control over your data:
Data Reset
You can clear all local data via Settings > Data & Privacy.
Account Deletion
Permanent removal of all server-side data can be requested via the Profile settings or by emailing info@use-me.ch.
Governing Language
The English version of these terms shall prevail in case of any discrepancy.
